To Teas You

I don't know about any of my followers, but I love tea. I prefer it over coffee because of the taste (tea really comes in every possible flavor imaginable), the versatility (blending flavors, iced..etc) and due to the fact that it has less caffeine than coffee. Coffee makes me too jittery and I usually have to be in a 'certain mood' to drink it.

My favorite tea is Earl Grey blends, I like how its very similar to English breakfast, however the distinct bergamont flavor really adds to the bold taste. I recently bought the Earl Grey blend from Trader Joe's and it's pretty good.

Green Jasmine
I also like the blend of vanilla almond tea and white tea. The vanilla can be a bit overpowering, but blended with a plain white tea it almost balances it out. However, some prefer the strong almond taste.

I was never too crazy about flower infused teas, almost too 'sweet' and 'plant-like' tasting for me, until I tried Twinning's Green Jasmine. I like to drink this tea before bed, because it has a nice, lush, warm flavor and it kind of lulls me to sleep. For some reason, I find this tea really comforting.

A couple of months ago, I went to this store called Teavana and although, overpriced, the store does boast quality tea and flavors. They also sell expensive tea pots, and tea-related items. A perfect gift for any tea enthusiast, I kind of secretly want one for my birthday ;). They have samples throughout the store, some iced, some hot. I tried a couple, but the one I really liked was the blend of blueberry rooibos and lime rooibos, mixed together in an iced tea, with some sugar cane. Really delicious. Now rooibos is a tea that you don't really need to let reach boiling point and you can let the tea bag sit in it for awhile to really let the flavor permeate.

So, if you enjoy drinking tea, I definitely suggest you check out Teavana for a multitude of flavors, and even to sample some. Careful though, their staff is trained to SELL, trust me. Avoid them and make your own decisions and you'll be fine.

  2. I've always liked just regular, old, boring tea. I've tried a couple flavored ones, and I wasn't really a fan.

  6. People really encouraged me to drink tea when I said I was having coffee withdrawals. I tried it, but tea just didn't have the kick I crave. It tastes good sometimes though.

  20. I've never been a big fan of coffee. it doesn't have the consistency to match its appearance and that has always thrown me off. But tea... whole different ball game. The flavors are as varied as the the brewers imagination and if you love tea you will find that while you have your own personal preferences its pretty rare to find a single blend you actually dislike. Personally i prefer a plain earl grey with just a pinch of cane sugar. I don't really enjoy Green tea but i have found that with mint or rhubarb it can be pretty good. One of the best blends i have ever had was a very sweet combination of pomegranate extracts and black berry. I have no idea how to make it or even what brand it was if it was even store purchasable but it had the scent of a handful of fresh berries in Autumn air and a hearty taste that felt like it had some sort of ethereal weight to it that only took effect once you were enjoying it.

  22. Wow stromatose- sounds really nice. I just found out there's this local tea shop near where I live that now has over 70 different types of loose tea. I'll have to go there one day and I'm gonna keep an eye out for a similar one that you described. :)
